Hershey’s says they will not be able to meet demand for Halloween candy this year due to supply chain issues. Gas dropped nicely in July and stocks made big gains. Have you tried to buy a new car this year? Many models are marked up $2500 to $5000 or more over the manufacturer’s suggested price. Check out the Costco auto program where a friend was able to get a new Jeep Wrangler for $400 under the suggested price. Besides the chip shortage affecting auto production, there is a shortage of railroad cars for shipping to CA. Are we in a recession? By a standard definition of two quarters of negative GNP, yes, but a mild one so far. Let’s hope it stays that way.
